Physicians need to respect the wishes of their adult JW patients. However, they first need to have a private consultation with the patient with no other JWs present. They need to ascertain the patients level of commitment to the policy, as well as their understanding of the risks associated with declining various types of blood products presently banned by the WT. JW patients are often under duress and coercion to support the policy, and they have been given only the facts that support WT policy. Only after being comfortable that the patient has provided full and informed consent should the doctor proceed. Some JW patients accept all blood products. In these situations, doctors and hospitals have a responsibility to protect their privacy.

Should Blood Transfusions be forced?
by Fisherman in1.there are times when a doctor decides that the only life saving medical treatment -short of a miracle- is a blood transfusion.
in such a case, what should be done when a person refuses treatment on religious grounds and why?.
2. should a person be allowed to "mutilate" his body and why?.

How did you feel when you got baptized?
by Schnufti inback in 2005, i remember sitting in the stadium in the special rows with 42 others.
8000 people were looking at us - maybe even with a binocular - while listening to the speech.
my family and my friends among them, being all proud of me.. i don't remember being enthusiastic.

It was November, 3 months after Woodstock, I shivered. I was a month shy of being 10 years old. That is what I remember.

Joachim Boldt - Two More Retractions for WT's bloodless "expert"
by OrphanCrow infrom retraction watch:.
when you have 94 retractions, what's two more?.
attention joachim boldt: the 1990s are calling, and they want their papers back.the annals of thoracic surgery has retracted two papers from the early 1990s on which boldt was the first author – bringing the retraction tally for the disgraced german anesthesiologist to 96, by our count.

The kind of stuff that really raises eyebrows in the medical and academic communities. This is the primary audience we are going after these days, and this is powerful stuff that will give physicians second thoughts about swallowing Watchtower's/HLC dubious medical advice.

Was looking at my childhood book "From Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained" I found something interesting.
by Still Totally ADD ini was showing a friend of mine what kind of books my parents allowed me to read when i was very young.
no children books that was age related but the so called orange paradise book was my only children book i had.
she was taken back on how violent it was and showing little kids being killed by god was just unspeakable.

Actually walked up to a door once as a 15 year old and a young couple were doing the wild thing in the living room with the front door open. Good times.

It is rare in this life that something is "always" the best or worst, etc. We all have unique situations. Personally, if I would have disassociated when I left, there would be a lot of people still actively in the organization that are now out. Due to the fact that many "JWs" continued to think of me as a "JW" and an elder, I was able to have a level of influence I would not have otherwise had. Family relationships were also easier. This is a personal decision each person has to make, and its not for anyone else to second guess in my view. That said, its not something to be decided on a whim or based on emotion. Simply weigh the pros and cons, and make the call that is best in your situation.

My suggestion: Don't do it. Don't play their game. Ignore their rules. Simply don't see the upside with the strategy. Just distance yourself. They will figure it out soon enough and shun you anyway.

The undue influence is more related to the Watchtower and its members. With respects to the medical community, its more complex, but still problematic and troubling imo.
